Fabric Bowls explore how 2D shapes and curves transform into 3D structures. Starting with a net cut from card or fabric, the 3D form gradually appears as the bowl is sewn up. After making a few of these these shapes, we begin to develop intuitions about the outcome a particular net, as well as an understanding of how geometries come about through the relationship between ideas, materials and processes.
We are in the process of uploading resources, including nets which can be laser cut and sewn, and a file that can be manipulated to create new shapes, as well as links to the resources we buy from other places.
